Business Policies & Procedures

Please read and agree to these policies of service before placing an order.

Pick up: Customers can pick up at my home or a meet-up place in town. Customers are given a 15-minute pickup window. Any customer who misses the pickup window can retrieve their order at my home.

Delivery: I give a delivery window of 30 minutes. I charge for delivery based on the cost of gas, the cost of my time, and a profit margin.

Payment: No order is considered officially booked on my calendar until it is paid in full. Orders over $100 can be split into 2 payments, but all must be paid in full one week from the order date.

Prices: Prices are non-negotiable. Each quote is given based on your exact cupcake/cake design. I do not offer discounts for bulk orders (it takes just as long to pipe the 100th cupcake as it does the first). Once a quote is given, it is valid for 14 days.

Refunds: I hold to and communicate a “No Refund” policy to all my customers, therefore reserving the right to give a refund when I feel it’s appropriate. If I find that I could’ve prevented a situation or a mishap occurred due to my own negligence, I will refund my customer. Their care is my top priority. If you are unsatisfied with your product, you must contact me within 24 hours. I will do my best to rectify the problem in a timely manner.

Cancellations: Order cancellations from the customer will not be given a full refund due to missed opportunities from taking on their order. I hold to and communicate this policy to my customers, and reserve the right to offer a refund for cancellations when I feel it is appropriate. I hold the right to cancel a booking in extreme circumstances (i.e., an illness). In this circumstance, a full refund will be issued to the customer.

Order Capacity: I can take one large order per week (such as a wedding) or 5-6 small orders.

Last-Minute Orders: I charge a $25 rush fee for any order not booked 2 weeks in advance. I do not take on any last-minute orders when my booking schedule is full or I have personal commitments.

Dietary Requirements: I use the highest-quality ingredients in my baked goods. I do not use any preservatives in my baked goods. I do not use nuts in my ingredients, however, they are still in my kitchen. Therefore, I cannot guarantee that my baked goods are nut-free.

Business Hours: My set baking hours vary weekly. I set a weekly baking/decorating schedule on the Friday or Saturday before the next week. I communicate these times to my family members and they are supportive and willing to help me work at these times.

Bakeroos Ministry: I am the Executive Director of a baking ministry in Knoxville serving the local foster care community. This business would not exist if not for my beginnings in the creation of Bakeroos. This ministry remains my utmost priority when it comes to baking and decorating, therefore, if the ministry requirements become extensive, I will halt orders for The Buttercream Mill.
